Covenant Worship

(Most of this is adapted from a similar document from a sister PCA church)

If you are a first-time visitor, we are so glad you decided to worship with us! We recognize that having children in the service may be new to you. Here is an explantation of why we believe this is good for the church, our families, and our children:

1. We see that the common biblical pattern is including ALL of God's people (children as well) in the public worship of God (Joshua 8:35, Joel 2:15-16, Ephesians 6:1).

2. God makes his covenant of grace with believers and their children (Genesis 17:7-8, Acts 2:39). This should be reflected in worship.

3. Parents are entrusted with the primary responsibility of passing the faith on to their children (Deuteronomy 6:5-9, Ephesians 6:4). When families worship together, God provides wonderful opportunities for parents to disciple children before, during, and after the worship service.

4. When speaking about children, Jesus says, "The kingdom of God belongs to such as these" (Mark 10:14). Our covenant children's presence in worship reflects the kingdom of God and is essential to enhancing our worship.
